Green Planet Waste Management was incorporated in 2010 to prove a simple idea: that waste can be managed at source, scientifically, without a landfill at the end of the chain. Fifteen years on, we operate materials recovery centres, zero-waste plants and plastic-to-fuel units across North India — and help producers, importers and brand owners meet their EPR obligations across every waste stream. We are operators first: the certificates we handle are backed by processing we run and a network we know personally.

2010 — 2014Building the model

Incorporation
Green Planet Waste Management Pvt. Ltd. is founded to build decentralised, zero-waste-to-landfill operations.
- 2013
Motibagh zero-waste plant
Our flagship plant begins operations at the GPRA Complex, New Moti Bagh — source segregation and on-site composting of the complex's wet waste. It runs continuously to this day.
- 2014
Plastic-to-fuel unit
A plastic-to-liquid-fuel unit is commissioned at New Moti Bagh, so the complex's plastic is processed on site rather than sent out.
2019 — 2021Into plastic EPR
- 2019
Two facilities in Rohtak
Two facilities begin operating in Rohtak, Haryana: a plastic waste collection centre, and a 500 kg/day organic waste composting plant at Sonaria — both streams of the Motibagh model, running outside Delhi for the first time.
Registered with CPCB as a Producer Responsibility Organisation
PRO registration opens our plastic EPR practice, advising producers, importers and brand owners on their obligations under the Plastic Waste Management Rules.
First plastic waste collection centre
We open our first plastic waste collection centre in City-SP Zone, under the North Delhi Municipal Corporation — so the compliance work sits on our own collection infrastructure from the start.

East Coast Railways
A waste-to-energy plant is commissioned for East Coast Railways, running on Polycrack technology.

Empanelled as Waste Management Agency, North DMC
The North Delhi Municipal Corporation empanels GPWM as a Waste Management Agency for the collection of plastic waste.

Safdarjung Hospital MRF
We take over the materials recovery facility at VMMC & Safdarjung Hospital — a self-funding operation that charges the hospital no service fee.

Operations begin at the redeveloped Central Vista — among the most visible public precincts in India.

Anupam Colony recognition
NDMC designates New Moti Bagh, the complex our operation serves, as Anupam Colony for its zero-waste, fully circular waste management.

Certificates are only as genuine as the processor behind them — and we know those processors personally, across every EPR stream. Every certificate we supply is verified against records before it reaches you. That judgment is the product.
At the table since 1999
Our founder Rajesh Mittal's engagement with plastic waste policy predates the EPR regime itself: Member, Task Force on Plastic Waste Management, MoEF, 1999; Industry Expert, Select Committee, Delhi Vidhan Sabha, 2000; and Ex Vice President, Recycled Plastic Manufacturers Association, New Delhi. Today, that continuity runs through AIPMA membership and ICPE guidance.
Institutional oversight
On 27 August 2019, the National Green Tribunal’s Monitoring Committee — chaired by Justice Pritam Pal (Retd.), former Judge of the Punjab & Haryana High Court — visited the municipal solid waste treatment plant at Rohtak. Our 500 kg/day bio-composting installation was commissioned that day and demonstrated to the committee. It was formally inaugurated on 14 September 2019 by Haryana’s Cooperation Minister, Manish Kumar Grover.

Long before EPR existed, GPWM was already on the ground. Our teams ran the Litter-Free Connaught Place initiative, public awareness campaigns at IITF, AutoExpo and PlastIndia, and post-Navratri waste collection drives at the Yamuna bridges — and took part in NDTV's Greenathon at Yamuna Bank, Agra. These early campaigns shaped how we work today: on the ground, in public, at scale.

An entrepreneur with over three decades across business operations, marketing and management, Rajesh Mittal founded and grew the United Group of Companies before taking the helm at GPWM to build a cleaner, greener India. A specialist in plastic waste management and plastic-to-fuel conversion, he has championed proper plastic recycling in India for over twenty years — speaking at national forums and leading GPWM at NDTV's Greenathon. He was already a recognised industry leader in Delhi's recycled plastics sector before the EPR regime existed. He was inducted into the GRPC Hall of Fame (2015) and received the Dynamic Asia Global Award (2019).

Executive DirectorWith 40+ years across environmental services, textiles and international trade, Ravi Kapoor brings deep operating and commercial experience to GPWM. He leads the company's EPR practice, advising 150+ clients across every EPR stream — plastic, e-waste, battery, tyre, used oil and C&D — on the government's evolving compliance framework. His expertise in certificate verification — knowing which processors and which paper will survive an audit — is GPWM's sharpest edge. A hands-on operator across the group's plants and municipal programmes, he was recognised by NDMC (2022) for his Swachhata contribution in the NDMC area.
